Dalton was educated at Sam Houston State and Texas A & M where he received his Vocational Teacher’s Certification. He was a Vocational Teacher in Coldspring, Texas for 9 years (high school shop teacher) and in his vocational program built various community buildings with student assistance. Some of the projects were Street Elementary School in Coldspring, the First Baptist Church administration building, and numerous other school district construction and roofing projects.
Dalton is uniquely skilled for all types of construction challenges. He has experience with concrete and steel construction that surpass almost all other custom home contractors. At the beginning of Dalton’s construction career he was a Field Construction Foreman on an $11 million prison project and later Assistant Construction Superintendent on an $18 million prison project. These projects yielded great concrete and steel construction experience. Dalton has built the San Jacinto County Senior Citizens Building, a half million-dollar First Baptist Church sanctuary, town homes in Cape Royale and a great number of homes from 800 sq. ft. to 8000 sq. ft. in the Coldspring, Onalaska, Blanchard, Willis and other East Texas communities. In addition, Dalton and his crew have completed numerous remodeling, renovation, and addition projects.
Dalton’s biggest assets are his honesty, experience, and the fact that he is an "on-the-job" carpenter. The Currie crew does the framing, metal roofing, trim carpentry, and custom cabinetry. Dalton is a Director of the Bank of San Jacinto County and a 30+ year member of the First Baptist Church of Coldspring.
